ABSU Set to Commission Cashew Nut Shell Extraction Plant

The Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Onyemachi M. Ogbulu has assured that the Abia State University Uturu (ABSU) cashew nut shell extraction plant will be commissioned soon following the successful installation and completion of the building housing the project.

Professor Ogbulu who gave the assurance during an inspection visit to the project site commended the supervisor who is also the Head of Department, Pure and Industrial Chemistry, Professor Innocent C. Nnorom for his commitment to ensure speedy completion of the project adding that it will be of both economic and research benefit to the University.

Earlier, Professor Innocent C. Nnnorom who thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his innovativeness and support explained the workings of the plant which will extract cashew oil and other bi products for industrial and research uses.

Recall that the project which was vigorously by the present administration in collaboration with the Raw Materials research and development council (RMRDC) is to promote research and industry.
